Hongjian (Luke) Zhang
Software EngineerI am a master student in the department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at UC Berkeley. Prior, I was an undergraduate majoring in Computer Science, Statistics and Operations Research & Management Science. I am interested in 3 things, building products that apply machine learning, AI and optimization, developing augmented reality applications, and building infrastructure to support those two.
My Activity
Work History
My Specialities
VR, AR & Computer Vision
As a member of the VR@Berkeley, I built and deployed applications onto Oculus Rift, Hololens and Magic Leap. Recently I have been working on startup that is developing a toolkit to allow technical experts to instruct in-field technicians through a set of VR and AR devices.
AI, Machine Learning & Optimization
Solving practical and impactful problems by applying Deep Learning and Reinforcement Learning algorithms. I am curently working on project in RISE lab, trying to beat current state-of-the-art model in predicting transcription binding sites in DNA sequences using a combination of CNNs and deep deinforcement learning algorithms.
Parallel & Distributed Computing
I am experienced at writing parallel code using various parallel paradigms in various languages, such as Python, Java, C, C++, Go, as well as working with distributed systems.
Product Management
Communicating with multiple stackholders to remove roadblocks and building the right product.
